Why We Built This Site
Louisiana gives the public access to a great deal of court and law-enforcement information, but the hard part is working out which office holds the piece you need. A warrant does not live in one place. The court that issues it sets the charge and the bond, and the Sheriff's Office is the agency that carries it out and can say whether it is still open. A bench warrant for a missed court date is often held by the justice of the peace or the municipal court that set the case, not by the district court at all. Because Louisiana has no statewide warrant system that pulls those records together, every check is a local check. Look in one office, see nothing, and you can wrongly conclude the matter is closed. - We cannot promise that every address, fee, or listing here is current today
Only the court that issued a warrant, or the Sheriff's Office that holds it, can confirm whether it exists or has been recalled. We can point you to the right office, but the answer has to come from them.
